Nokia 2360 Flip Goes Official as a Dual-Screen Feature Phone With Family Assist and SOS Button
HMD has announced the Nokia 2360 Flip, a clamshell built for school students and senior citizens with two displays, remote Family Assist controls and a one-press SOS key — but it works on 2G networks only.

HMD has added another clamshell to the Nokia lineup. The Nokia 2360 Flip is not trying to compete with smartphones; it is aimed squarely at two groups of buyers — school students getting their first phone and older users who want something simple, durable and easy to read. The hinges, keypad and small screens are pure nostalgia, but the software features underneath are aimed at modern families.
Two displays, each with a job
Open the phone and you get a 2.8-inch TFT main screen at 240 x 320 pixels in a 4:3 shape — small by today's standards, but sharp enough for menus, messages and contact lists. Close it and a 1.77-inch external panel takes over, showing the time, date and incoming call details without opening the lid. That second screen is the practical part of the design: checking who is calling or glancing at the hour no longer means flipping the phone open every time.
Family Assist is the real headline
The feature HMD is pushing hardest is Family Assist. It lets relatives manage the handset remotely instead of walking someone through menu trees over the phone. From another device, a family member can add contacts, change volume levels, set reminders and adjust other settings. For a parent setting up a child's first phone, or an adult child looking after a parent's device in a different city, that removes most of the friction.

A dedicated SOS key on the back
On the rear panel there is a separate emergency button. Pressing it dials a pre-selected contact and pushes an alert message to as many as five people. It is a single-purpose hardware key, deliberately placed so it can be found by touch without unlocking anything — a sensible choice for the audience this phone is built for.

Hardware: modest, but user-serviceable
The rest of the hardware is honest feature-phone fare. There is a removable 1,450 mAh battery, a loud earpiece speaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. Storage is 4MB on board, expandable through a microSDHC card, and memory is also 4MB — enough for calls, texts, contacts and a few photos from the QVGA camera, which has an LED flash. The body weighs 121 g and measures 111.9 x 55.6 x 19 mm when folded, and it takes two mini-SIM cards. The phone is offered in Burgundy Red, Charcoal and Teal.

The 2G question
The biggest limitation is the radio. The Nokia 2360 Flip is a 2G-only device, so it depends entirely on GSM networks staying switched on. In markets where 2G has already been retired, the handset simply cannot be used for calls — a reminder that cheap, simple phones are only as good as the network behind them. In Bangladesh, 2G coverage is still available on the major networks, which means the phone can handle calls and SMS here; mobile data, however, is effectively off the table, and buyers should confirm local coverage before picking one up for an elderly relative in a remote area.
Price and availability
HMD has not announced pricing yet, and there is no confirmed retail date. The colour options are final, though, and the feature set is not expected to change. We are tracking the handset on our Nokia 2360 Flip specifications page, which lists the full spec sheet and will be updated as soon as a Bangladesh price appears.
