Xiaomi has formally announced the Redmi K100 in China, and the standard model is built around endurance rather than a compact footprint. Its headline hardware combines a 10,000mAh battery, a 165Hz AMOLED panel and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, with launch pricing beginning at CNY 3,499.

A 6.83-inch AMOLED panel running at 165Hz

The K100 carries a flat 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 2772 x 1280 resolution. Refresh rate climbs to 165Hz, a level usually reserved for gaming-first flagships, and Xiaomi quotes a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. Two comfort features stand out for late-night use: full DC dimming and a dimming floor that drops to 1 nit.

Snapdragon 8 Elite paired with the Redmi D2 chip

Power comes from the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm's 2024 flagship platform. It is a step behind the newest generations of silicon, but it remains more than capable for demanding Android titles, and Redmi has added its own D2 chip to handle gaming enhancements. The base version ships with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, while the top configuration steps up to 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

10,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 27W reverse charging

Battery capacity is the most distinctive part of the package. At 10,000mAh, the cell is bigger than the batteries inside several recently launched performance phones, and it supports 100W wired charging. Reverse charging at 27W means the K100 can also top up earbuds or a second handset when needed.

Cameras, audio and colour options

The rear setup consists of two cameras, led by a 50MP main sensor. Stereo speakers tuned with Sound by Bose handle audio, and the phone is offered in three colourways. Xiaomi has not detailed the secondary rear camera in its launch materials, so the full camera story will have to wait for hands-on reviews.

Launch Price (China)From CNY 3,499 (CNY 2,999 with Singles' Day promotion)

Chinese launch coverage lists the 12GB + 256GB version at CNY 3,499 before promotions. A Singles' Day discount of CNY 500 brings that figure to CNY 2,999, and buyers who also qualify for the government trade-in subsidy can bring the effective price down to roughly CNY 2,549. The 16GB + 512GB model is reported at CNY 3,899. Converted without local taxes, those figures sit at roughly USD 450 to USD 585.

Will the Redmi K100 come to Bangladesh?

Xiaomi has not announced a Bangladesh release or local pricing for the K100. Reports from China suggest the device could be sold in global markets under the Poco F9 name, but that branding has not been confirmed by the company. Until an official announcement appears, any Bangladesh price circulating online should be treated as unofficial.

What we think

The K100's pitch is easy to sum up: last year's flagship chip, a screen that feels faster than most rivals, and a battery that should comfortably survive a full day of heavy use. The same model appeared on Geekbench ahead of launch with 16GB of RAM, and the retail announcement now fills in the display, charging and price details. The camera hardware looks modest next to the battery and screen, so photography quality will decide whether the K100 is a genuine all-rounder or a specialist endurance phone.
