POCO has expanded its X-series lineup with the new POCO X8s, a compact smartphone aimed at the mid-to-high-tier segment. Following the POCO X8 introduced last month, the X8s takes a different approach by focusing on a smaller 6.35-inch footprint while packing updated battery technology, Qualcomm silicon, and capable hardware.

Design and Display
The POCO X8s is built around a 6.35-inch CrystalRes AMOLED panel with a 2656 x 1220 (1.5K) resolution and an adaptive 1-120Hz LTPO refresh rate. The display supports 480Hz touch sampling, DC dimming, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision, with a multi-scenario peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits. POCO Shield Glass protects the front, and symmetric 1.18mm bezels help maximize the screen-to-body ratio.
The phone measures 151.1 x 71.8 x 8.06 mm and weighs 187 grams. It uses a micro-curved aluminum frame and carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Biometric authentication is handled by an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
Performance and Internals
Under the hood, the X8s runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform, fabricated on a 4nm process with peak clock speeds up to 2.8GHz. Thermal management is handled by POCO's 3D IceLoop cooling system with a 4,497 mm2 heat dissipation surface.
The device comes in two memory configurations: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM with 512GB storage. It ships with Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Connectivity includes 5G, Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster, dual-SIM support with eSIM capability, and USB Type-C.
Camera System
The rear camera module features a triple-lens setup:
- Primary: 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor (1/1.55-inch, f/1.77 aperture, OIS, 2.0 um 4-in-1 Super Pixel)
- Telephoto: 50MP sensor with 57mm equivalent focal length (f/2.2 aperture)
- Ultra-wide: 8MP sensor (f/2.2 aperture, 120-degree field of view)
The front-facing camera is a 20MP unit housed in a punch-hole cutout, supporting 1080p video recording. The rear system supports 4K video recording.
Battery and Charging
Despite its compact dimensions, the POCO X8s packs a 6,330mAh battery built on high-energy-density silicon-carbon chemistry with 16% silicon content. It supports 100W HyperCharge wired charging compatible with the PPS standard, along with up to 22.5W wired reverse charging for external accessories.
