itel A300 Plus 4G Review: What the Helio G81 and 7,000 mAh Battery Deliver

itel A300 Plus 4G pairs a 6.78-inch 120Hz screen, a 2.01-inch rear display and a 7,000 mAh battery with the Helio G81. Here is what that hardware really means at BDT 18,990.

The itel A300 Plus 4G has arrived in Bangladesh as a budget phone with two unusual selling points: a 7,000 mAh battery and a second, 2.01-inch screen on the back. At BDT 18,990 for the single 6GB/128GB variant, it sits in a crowded part of the market, so the real question is not whether the spec sheet looks good — it is what the hardware feels like in daily use.

MobileMaya's review scored the phone 6.8 out of 10, with display, battery, processor and storage each at 7/10 and cameras at 6/10. That split tells the story fairly well: the A300 Plus is built around endurance and screen time, not photography.

Performance: what the Helio G81 can realistically handle

The Helio G81 is a 4G-class MediaTek chip with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked up to 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores, working alongside a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. Paired with 6GB of RAM, that combination is comfortable with the everyday workload most budget buyers throw at a phone: messaging, social feeds, browsing, video streaming, maps and a handful of apps left open in the background.

Gaming is where expectations need calibrating. Casual and mid-weight titles run fine at sensible settings, but the A300 Plus is not the phone to choose for demanding games at high frame rates, and it will not match devices built around a stronger chip. The 120Hz panel makes menus and scrolling feel smoother than the raw hardware would suggest, which helps the phone feel quicker in short interactions.

The review's 7/10 processor score matches that positioning — adequate rather than impressive. For buyers whose main use is gaming, a phone with a more powerful chipset is the better spend.

Battery: the strongest argument for this phone

A 7,000 mAh cell is the headline, and the review estimates well over two days of mixed use covering calls, social media, video and light gaming. For anyone who dislikes carrying a charger, that endurance is the feature worth paying for.

The trade-off is charging speed. At 18W, a battery this large takes a long time to fill, so the practical routine is an overnight charge rather than a quick top-up. Charging runs over USB-C 2.0, and the retail box includes an 18W adapter, a cable and a protective case.

Display and the rear second screen

The 6.78-inch IPS LCD supports a 120Hz refresh rate, but its resolution stops at HD+ (720 x 1576). Text and video are therefore less sharp than on a full-HD panel, and the LCD cannot match OLED for contrast or deep blacks. Peak brightness of 480 nits is usable indoors and workable outdoors, though not especially bright in direct sun. Bezels are noticeably thick, which is one of the review's design criticisms.

The 2.01-inch interactive display on the back is the phone's signature feature. It shows notifications, controls music playback and works as a viewfinder for selfies taken with the rear camera — a genuinely useful trick at this price rather than a purely decorative element.

Cameras: basic, as expected at this price

The rear setup is a single 13MP sensor with LED flash and HDR, recording video at up to 1080p/30fps, while the front camera is 8MP. There is no ultrawide or macro lens. Daylight photos and video calls are fine for the money, but low-light shots and digital zoom are weak points, and the 6/10 camera score is the lowest in the review.

Software, security and everything else

The phone ships with Android 16, a side-mounted fingerprint reader and face unlock. IP65 protection covers dust and light splashes but not submersion. Connectivity is limited to 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0. At 210 grams and 8.75 mm thick, the A300 Plus is on the heavy side, which is expected given the battery capacity and can make long one-handed sessions tiring.

Verdict: who should buy the itel A300 Plus 4G?

Buy it if battery life, a large 120Hz display and the rear second screen matter more to you than camera quality or gaming headroom. Skip it if you take a lot of photos or play demanding games — the Helio G81 and the single 13MP camera are the clear compromises. At BDT 18,990, the value case rests almost entirely on the 7,000 mAh cell.
